A Message from our Directors

Our apartheid past left serious shortcomings in our schooling system, the
effects of which are still being felt in the workplace. Which means getting
the best people straight off the street is going to be rather difficult to say
the least!

Industry has to engage in three important tasks. Train! Train! Train!

Lucky for us the SA Government put together a National Skills Development
Strategy (NSDS) with the aim of promoting the scarce and critical
skills so necessary for South Africa to be able to compete with the rest of
the world. Incentives are available to organizations which participate in the

Giving workers an opportunity to achieve meaningful vocational
qualifications through “learnerships” will be rewarded through learnership
grants and tax breaks. But training and assessment must be done by an
accredited training provider, such as SCIENTEC, whose certificates are
credible and carry the seal of an accrediting authority.

Scientec promotes an active interest in learning, enabling students to acquire the skills, attitudes and qualifications necessary for them to become successful, responsible citizens.

This is achieved through the provision of a challenging curriculum which develops critical, principled thinking within a positive learning environment and which addresses the students’ academic, social, emotional, physical, technological, aesthetic and moral needs.
